La Grande Guerre des Jumelles Vol. 1

Information

“La Grande guerre des Jumelles, Volumes 1 and 2”, are the result of almost 10 years of research and constitute the only complete reference for the French military binoculars and optics used during the Great War. These two works include more than 650 pages and more than 1,500 illustrations, a significant part of which has never been published before. In addition to presenting pre-war civilian and military production, the author explores in depth the intricacies of manufacturing Galilean binoculars, prism binoculars and double telescopes produced by various manufacturers such as Krauss, Huet, Lemaire, Deraisme , Colmont, SPJP, and others. Readers will discover a wealth of information on various military optical equipment, including periscopic binoculars, periscopes, and large objective prism monoculars that were

deployed on the front by the French army. Although the book is in French, the author has taken steps to overcome the language barrier by including numerous photographs and data tables which improve accessibility to the information.
